Flint Community Schools Corps
Serving in all 11 Flint Community School buildings, members provide during/after-school and summer learning activities for K-12 students, including tutoring, health education, conflict resolution, service-learning, and access to social services. VISTA members leverage volunteers and engage parents and community partners.
Serving in 9 Flint Community Schools Elementary buildings, Reading Corps tutors connect with at-risk K-3 students to provide literacy instruction. Over the course of the school year, students in the program receive 20 minutes of one-on-one tutoring five days per week in their own school. Through time and effort, students are placed on the path to proficiency by 3rd grade.

Flint Urban Safety Corps
Serving along the University Avenue Corridor, Urban Safety Corps AmeriCorps members will implement activities related to crime prevention/reduction, blight elimination, and community building, including board-ups and clean-ups, engaging neighborhood groups, forming radio patrols & bike watch groups, and engaging neighborhood volunteers.
City of Flint
Serving to implement Flint’s Master Plan, City of Flint VISTA members support neighborhoods, recruit and manage volunteers, build capacity for parks, promote the Blue Badge community policing volunteer program and the community service centers, and otherwise engage residents in Master Plan implementation.
American Red Cross
Serving to assist the community in the areas of disaster preparedness/response and engagement, Red Cross Together We Prepare AmeriCorps members provide much needed services to Genesee County and beyond to help the community be more resilient.

Boys and Girls Club
Serve the community by coordinating program areas and field trips, assisting with USDA summer food program, delivering summer learning loss and other educational programs, and implementing programs under the Michigan Health Endowment Fund grant.

Over the summer, AmeriCorps VISTA members served at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint, Catholic Charities, Crim Fitness Foundation, and Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to provide direct service and capacity building for programs related to summer learning and summer feeding for at-risk youth and families.
