Introducing the Genesee Serves Volunteer Platform
The United Way of Genesee County is pleased to launch the new Volunteer Center for the community, Genesee Serves. Genesee Serves fosters and develops volunteerism, providing support at a local level for individual volunteers and volunteer-utilizing agencies. Genesee Serves creates positive impact in Genesee County by building the capacity of individuals, organizations, and the community for meaningful volunteer service.
One of the ways that Genesee Serves builds capacity for volunteerism is through an online volunteer platform. The Genesee Serves volunteer platform is an easy-to-use web-based platform that matches the right volunteers, donors and advocates with the right opportunities to serve in Flint and Genesee County.
The volunteer platform is a tool for both volunteers and volunteer-seeking organizations. Individual volunteers or volunteer groups can search for volunteer opportunities based on their own interests, reach out to agencies who care about the same things they care about, and find meaningful ways to give back. This is perfect for anyone from students looking to volunteer for clubs or extra credit, to corporate groups seeking to increase their corporate social responsibility. The platform also allows volunteers to track their service hours and keep a dashboard of local engagement. Volunteer-seeking agencies can use the platform to post volunteer opportunities, connect with volunteers, verify hours of volunteerism, and post events and donation needs.
The United Way of Genesee County is pleased to reveal the Genesee Serves volunteer platform as the latest way that we are giving our neighbors the opportunity to care for one another. If you have questions about the platform or the role of the Volunteer Center contact Volunteer Coordinator, Rachel Wenzlick, firstname.lastname@example.org, and find out what Genesee Serves can do for you!
