Opportunities From: Genesee and Shiawassee Serves

Duties for volunteers within our High Tunnel and Peace Garden include assisting staff members to supervise activities, conduct programming specific to our garden spaces, and to assist with day to day garden maintenance. Volunteers in this space will help Club Members with planting, watering and harvesting within our garden spaces. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.

As Club members enter, they’re asked to leave all of their book bags, coats, and personal items in the coat room. This volunteer would be responsible for monitoring the coat room and hanging the Club members’ belongings.

Duties for volunteers within the Cadet Room include assisting staff members to supervise activities and conduct programming for our Club Members aged 7 to 9. Volunteers can assist Cadet Room Club Members with homework during Power Hour which is 3:00pm-4:00pm. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.

Duties for volunteers within the Junior Game Room include assisting staff members to supervise activities and conduct programming specific to our Club Members aged 10 to 12. Volunteers can assist Junior Game Room Club Members with homework during Power Hour which is 3:00pm-4:00pm. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.

Duties for volunteers within the Teen Room include assisting staff members to supervise activities and conduct programming specific to our Club Members aged 13-17. Volunteers can assist Teen Room Club Members with homework during Power Hour which is 3:00pm-4:00pm. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.

Duties for volunteers within the Art Room include assisting staff members to supervise activities and conduct Arts and Crafts specific programming. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.

Duties for volunteers within the Fitness Room include assisting staff members to supervise activities and conduct programming specific to strength, weight, and cardio training. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.

Duties for volunteers within the Gym include assisting staff members to supervise and conduct programming specific to our Gym. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.

Duties for volunteers within our Reading Center include assisting staff members to supervise and conduct programming specific to each program space. Program activities are focused on increasing knowledge of academic success, healthy lifestyles, as well as character and leadership development.
