Chatting Helps Aging Adults Thrive (CHAAT) is a phone-based companionship program aimed at seniors who are socially isolated and would benefit from a friendly call, helping both the giver AND the receiver. They bring optimism and enthusiasm, create positive energy, and share diverse perspectives that lead to enhanced learning outcomes for students. Volunteer: Do You Love to Drive?Non-emergency medical transportation volunteers are needed for Genesee, Lapeer and Shiawassee County seniors! Many seniors in our community have no access to medical appointments and you can help! Mileage Reimbursement available Must have reliable transportation Must have good driver's record Must read and write legibly Must have patience and understanding of the older population Must be flexible with regards to client appointments and scheduling issues Drivers must wait with senior during local appointments Appointments are one-on-one Drivers can choose their own schedule
