Welcome to 2nd Street Learning! Our journey has come full circle as AJ and I, both born and raised in Flint, retrace our paths from living on 2nd Street, starting our family on Raskob and moving to Larchmont. Now, after three decades of marriage, three amazing children, a granddaughter, and our golden retriever, Gus, and cat, Patches, we are excited to share our story. United by a shared vision throughout our careers, we’ve dreamed of an organization centered around individualized education. Our goal is to unite the community and prioritize each child, crafting tailor-made learning experiences so they may thrive in life. After founding separate programs to empower students and families, AJ and I have merged our passions and expertise. Out of this shared vision, 2nd Street Learning was born. Our mission is to bridge learning gaps worsened by truancy, disconnection, and disengagement—challenges spanning both pre-pandemic and post-pandemic times. With innovation at our core, we aim to transform education, moving away from the status quo thinking and practices.. Through dynamic teaching methods and robust partnerships within the community, we envision a future where students thrive academically, socially, and personally.
