Mission: To raise funds to support the facilities and programs in the Nature Preserve and Arboretum that exceed the normal budget of the Genesee County Park System and to sustain the vision of For-Mar as a peaceful place for environmental education.
The Friends of For-Mar Foundation, established in 1974 by Martha Merkley, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum in Burton, Michigan. Martha Merkley donated the Merkley farm to the Genesee County Parks, leading to the creation of For-Mar, which opened in 1970.
