The Flint Institute of Arts is looking for 10 - 20 dedicated volunteers to assist with key tasks such as coat check, guest registration, and guarding artwork, at this year's 15th Annual Community Gala on Saturday, April 2nd.
The annual Community Gala is a diversity initiative presented in conjunction with an exhibition opening in celebration of Black History Month. This year’s exhibition is Sons: Seeing the Modern African Amerian Male on view in the Hodge & Henry Galleries until Saturday, April 16, 2022.
We ask that volunteers arrive at 4:45 pm for a quick volunteer orientation. From there you will be trained in your assigned task. Pizza will be provided to volunteers.
The lobby houses permanent installations by Calder, Chihuly, and Pfaff. Our primary directive is to protect the art displayed and stored in the museum. If you enjoy people watching and don’t mind tactfully reminding guests not to stand too close to our photorealist painting by Yigal Ozeri then we would love to have you join our volunteer team.
If you have further questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Lauren Watkins, Events & Beverage Assistant, lwatkins@flintarts.org
