A Hospice Volunteer doesn't do any direct patient care-- that's what our professionals do. Instead, our volunteers provide companionship by sitting, listening, talking to and playing games with patients. Being a hospice volunteer is one of the easiest and most rewarding things you can do. Flexible to work around your busy schedule. Volunteer as little as one hour one time a week making someone smile in a facility in your home town.
What's it take to become a volunteer? An application, two personal referances, a background check, finger-printing, TB test and some brief training (all done free of charge). It's non-fattening, no cost to you and greatly enriching!
