Who We Are
In the fall of 2014, a group of active residents who believe in building community through civic engagement formed an enterprise called Neighborhood Engagement Hub. Its purpose is to strengthen and restore communities by providing a source for information, education, facilitation, project development, advocacy, supportive equipment, and material. For Flint to have a prosperous future, its residents must be able to participate in the maintenance and development of their neighborhoods. Equitable development requires long-term ownership of changes and the skills to maintain and grow changed communities and will require practical participation neighborhood by neighborhood. Rebuilding and maintaining a community is hard work. It is work that members of a community have to do to have a comfortable and desirable neighborhood. Civic engagement is integral to assuring that grassroots community groups are able to be fully engaged in our city and essential to the on-going implementation of the Master Plan. Neighborhood Engagement Hub empowers neighborhoods to shape and grow their future.
What We Do
NEH supports grassroots neighborhood organizations, block clubs, and community groups that have the desire to create change in their community through the power of hard work! We offer training programs, neighborhood planning, and basic consulting services to help organizations move from idea to action.
