Flint & Genesee Literacy Network

The Flint & Genesee Literacy Network (FGLN) is a community collaborative working to improve literacy and educational outcomes across Flint and Genesee County. We connect learners, families, volunteers, educators, and community partners to strengthen adult literacy, expand access to learning opportunities, and build a more coordinated literacy system. Through programs like the Volunteer Tutor Alliance, our 2Gen ESL program, Genesee Reads, and partnerships with Adult Learning Centers, FGLN helps ensure residents of all ages have the literacy skills and support they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

FGLN connects people to literacy resources, learning opportunities, and community support across Flint and Genesee County. We coordinate adult literacy services, train and connect volunteer tutors with learners, support Adult Learning Centers, and offer 2Gen Family Literacy, an ESL program for adults and their children. Through community-wide initiatives like Genesee Reads, we bring partners, volunteers, and resources together to strengthen literacy from early childhood through adulthood.
