Who We Are

Mission: To provide comprehensive violence prevention, solution-driven research, and workforce development for at-risk youth and returning citizens.

The M.A.D.E. Institute, founded in 2014 by Leon El-Alamin, is a nonprofit organization based in Flint, Michigan. “M.A.D.E.” stands for Money, Attitude, Direction, and Education, reflecting the institute’s commitment to empowering individuals through comprehensive support services.

Leon El-Alamin’s personal journey significantly influences the institute’s approach. After serving time in prison, he recognized the challenges faced by returning citizens and at-risk youth. Motivated by his experiences, he established the M.A.D.E. Institute to provide support and opportunities for those seeking a fresh start.

What We Do

Since its inception, the M.A.D.E. Institute has been instrumental in transforming lives by offering resources and support to individuals striving for change. Through its various programs, the institute addresses critical issues such as unemployment, lack of education, and systemic barriers, fostering a more equitable and supportive community.
