Holiday Hope Event with SodexoMAGIC , a partner of Flint Community Schools

Expired

Description

A joint venture between Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Sodexo will host Holiday Hope: a relief effort to support distressed Flint families during the holiday season. Boxes filled with food will be passed out to 2,000 families.

"Flint families are still struggling to rebound from the economic and water crisis that plague the city. Sadly, a lot of families depend on the hot meals that are provided during the school day for their children to help make ends meet. Unfortunately, when others are enjoying the Christmas vacation, Flint children are going hungry." (as stated by a SodexoMAGIC press release)

Boxes will contain a turkey, vegetables, pies, water, beverages and all of the trimmings to help families get through the holiday season. Families have been identified and selected by the Flint Community School district and community partners.

We are asking for 100 volunteers to help package the food boxes and place them in the cars for those families receiving them. We will need help from 6:30 am to 1:00 pm. These volunteers will be crucial to make sure the boxes of food are passed out to 2,000 families.
