We would like to extend the opportunity to serve the community on the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, while still adhering to COVID-19 safety procedures (pre-health assessment, temperature checks, social distancing, mask requirement, etc). There will be three service opportunities that will take place on September 11th from 12:30-4 PM.
Kearsley Park Garden Clean Up: Join us in clearing out litter, weeds, and bushes from the community gardens at Kearsley Park.
Flint River Trail Brush and Litter Clean Up: Join members of the Flint Urban Health and Safety Corps at the Flint River Trail in cutting back foliage and clearing out dumping. Meet at the Ballenger/River Trail intersection (across from the Ballenger Rd Taco Bell)
Baby Book Bag Stuffing (Low Mobility Option): Join us in packing baby book bags with local resource information for local hospitals to give to newborns and their families. This project will take place under the pavilion at Kearsley Park.
When you register, if you have a preference of one of the above options you MUST tell us which one in the notes section before submitting your registration. (If you have trouble, please email Katie de Araujo at kdearaujo@unitedwaygenesee.org.)
