Description

JOIN THE 21- DAY RACIAL EQUITY CHALLENGE TO INSPIRE DISCUSSION, ACTION AND CHANGE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

The 21- Day Racial Equity Challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to raise your awareness, change your understanding and shift the way you think and behave.

The Challenge is simple: you, along with your friends, family, and neighbors in Genesee County, commit to deepening your understanding of, and willingness to confront racism for twenty-one consecutive days. The Challenge will raise your awareness, change your understanding, and shift the way you behave.

  • Participants will receive a daily challenge via email that invites them to explore a topic and choose an interactive activity such as reading an article, listening to a podcast, watching a video, reflecting on personal experiences and more.

  • The challenge will run 21 consecutive days from October 5 - 25

  • Capture your personal reflections and track your progress using the activity log.

  • Share your reflections and activities you find helpful on social media using #miuwequitychallenge and #UWGCequity. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Participation in activities like this helps us to discover how racial injustice and social injustice impact our community, to connect with one another, and identify actionable ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination.

This Challenge was originally developed by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr., Dr. Marguerite Penick-Parks and Debby Irving and has been adapted by Food Solutions New England. The Michigan Association of United Ways has committed to adapt the challenge with the support of leaders across our Michigan United Way network. A special thank you to the United Way of Washtenaw County for their leadership and guidance.
