Baker College of Flint is looking to engage 100 volunteers on Monday, January 16th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. We will be offering 4 service projects in our Student Center. This event is Family friendly, but any children under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
1. Making Laundry soap:
Volunteers will grate bar soap, mix ingredients or organize bags of soap for distribution. Finished bags will be donated to the Community Closet.
2. Assembling literacy Bags:
Volunteers are needed to help assemble the supplies into individual bags, organize completed bags for distribution. Completed bags will be donated to the Flint Public Schools.
3. Write Valentines for Veterans:
Volunteers are needed to help write a valentine message, sort and organize finished valentines for distribution. Completed Valentines will be delivered by the Baker VA club to veterans in local VA hospitals by Valentines Day.
4. Crochet sleeping mats for the homeless:
Volunteers are needed to crochet plastic yarn, cur plastic shopping bags into strips & connect plastic strips together to make plastic yarn. Completed sleeping mats are donated to Catholic Charities.
