September 11, 2021, is the 20th Anniversary of that tragic day. Join us on 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance — step forward to serve in a remarkable spirit of unity, honor, and compassion. Let's honor the lives & heroes we lost by uniting in community service.
As a tribute to the first responders in our own community, we will be beautifying the neighborhood around Fire Station #3 on MLK Blvd. Volunteers will plant flowers, contribute to a community mural, and clean up blight in the surrounding area.
For volunteers with mobility concerns, we will also be creating Halloween Safety Kits that will be passed out to local students this fall.

Please Note:
- Dress appropriately for outdoor clean-up activities (closed toe shoes)
- This event will take place rain or shine!
- We request that all volunteers wear masks as a safety precaution.
Release of Liability for 2021 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance Project
I, for myself, my heirs and assigns, and my personal representatives hereby assume all risk of personal injury or death, including, but not limited to, contraction of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and property damage or loss from whatever causes arising, while I am engaged in volunteer work for United Way of Genesee County and release United Way of Genesee County and all collaborating organizations, and their officers, agents and employees from any liability therefore, directly or indirectly, and will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless United Way of Genesee County and all collaborating organizations, and their officers, agents and employees from any such liability, whether or not arising out of negligent or willful actions or the failure to act on the part of United Way of Genesee County and all collaborating organizations, or their officers, agents and employees. The consideration for my agreement herein is my being allowed to engage in the activity referenced above. Further, I certify that I am 18 years of age or older and or accompany by a adult.
By registering for this Day of Service, you are agreeing to the liability waiver.
