The Whaley Historic House Museum often hosts rentals (ranging from birthday parties, to business meetings, to weddings), as well as special events that require volunteers to be on hand to observe and watch over the museum and its artifacts.
An individual interested in becoming an event or rental host would need to contact the museum, go through a brief orientation and then be willing to be on-call for events and rentals as they arise.
Volunteer meetings are held once a month and are a great way to meet others involved in the museum and share ideas, concerns, and experiences.
