Fenton Center of Hope operates a large community free choice food panntry. We assist over 100 families each week and maintain food availabilities in our shopping area that is set up like a small market. Each week deliveries come in from Gleaners foodbank and are processed and used to keep the shelves full. With the volume of dry goods, fresh produce, dairy items and frozen meats it takes alot of organizing and maintaining inventory rotation to maintain the high standards of the program.
We are looking for an individual that can perform the duties of pantry manager. The right candidate to fit the role would have prior grocery store experience, excellent organizational skills, ability to manage incoming stock and rotation. The pantry manager would also make decisions on inventory placement both in the back overstock area and for new items going directly to the shopping shelves. This person would also need to be able to give general instructions and direct a team of 10 voluunteers.
The right candidate would need to be able to manage incoming orders for the week as well as do some basic planning for orders coming in within the next 2 weeks.
This is a volunteer position, that would require being at the pantry Monday through Thursday from 7am to Noon. After a 90 day period this could potentially turn into a paid position based on if it is a good fit for our needs.
